Premises Liability

The firm's experience in handling premises liability cases is as broad based as the subject matter. Cases successfully handled by the firm in the past include the alleged failure to provide adequate security/ushers to control crowds at sports events, special events and concerts. Attorneys in the firm have defended most of the major sports and concert venues in the County of Los Angeles, or the private security companies employed thereat, including the L.A. Coliseum, the Sports Arena, the Santa Monica Civic Center, the Forum, the Long Beach Arena, and the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater (now known as the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater). These include claims arising out of sporting and rock concert events and include issues ranging from interior and exterior crowd control, building code violations regarding lighting, steps, railings, aisles and balconies, inadequate security and excessive force by security (including alleged violations of civil rights) and Americans With Disability Act issues. We have also defended many smaller business establishments, including numerous restaurants and bars involving the same issues. Cases handled include not only bodily injury and wrongful death cases but also allegations of false arrest, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, and civil rights violations.

We are very familiar with the sometimes competing and sensitive issues arising among co-defendants concerning contractual agreements and insurance issues, including additional insured coverage.

The firm has defended a number of Boys & Girls Clubs, day care centers, and after-school care facilities both in "recreational accidents" and those involving general negligence, intentional torts and premises liability.
